Melissa Winer

Melissa Winer was born and raised in Colts Neck, New Jersey. She attended the University of Connecticut on a full tuition merit scholarship and graduated on Dean’s List with a degree in Business Management. She was also on the board of the UConn Law and Business Society.

Melissa graduated in 2010 from the University of Miami School of Law. During law school Melissa interned with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. Additionally during law school, Melissa volunteered as a Certified Legal Intern at the Miami-Dade Consumer Services Department where she was able to start honing her civil litigation skills. She also traveled abroad to Spain, Greece, and Italy through UM Law School’s Study Abroad program, comparing international legal systems throughout Europe.

Melissa first focused her litigation skills on Personal Injury Protection (PIP) issues as a defense lawyer, representing insurance companies like State Farm at Matt Hellman, P.A. and then property claims at Acosta and Associates in Miami for Citizens Property Insurance Company. After years of working for the defense, Melissa brought her invaluable experience and skills to work at Shuster Saben Estevez, representing medical providers on PIP claims, as well as victims of negligence in personal injury cases. Melissa’s work product in court resulted in published orders for the firm in Florida Law Weekly Supplement.

Melissa is a member of the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association and Jacksonville Bar Association. When she is not working, Melissa enjoys cooking, baking, and discovering new restaurants. She is an active volunteer in community events and is a member of the Junior League of Jacksonville. Melissa also enjoys running and completed over a dozen half marathons. Melissa’s work product resulted in numerous published orders for her clients in Florida Law Weekly Supplement. Ms. Winer also represents victims of sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace in State and Federal Court.
